Walk the Halls and Feel the Legacy

Walk the Halls and Feel the Legacy

Marcus Garvey Academy proudly presents “Detroit Halls of History,” an engaging Black History Month experience celebrating the rich legacy, culture, and contributions of Black Detroit. This special event will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the school, located at 2301 Van Dyke.

The event will transform the halls into an interactive showcase featuring vibrant displays that highlight Detroit’s powerful history—from its cultural influence and community leadership to its lasting impact on music, business, activism, and innovation. Students and guests will have the opportunity to walk through thoughtfully curated exhibits that honor the strength, resilience, and excellence rooted in the city.

“Detroit Halls of History” is more than a presentation—it is a celebration of heritage and pride. The event aims to educate, inspire, and remind the community that Detroit’s story is deeply woven into the broader narrative of Black history in America.

Join us as we celebrate the legacy that lives within the halls and continues to shape the future.
